  2. 6rd scenarios DHCP server 6rd Border Relay CPE/host IPv6 IPv4 • 6rd is used to provide IPv6 connectivity services through IPv4-only infrastructure (6 over 4 tunnel) • The 6rd CPE uses extended 6rd DHCP option to discover 6rd border relay and to configure IPv6 prefix and address

  3. 6rd scenarios with AAA servers AAA server 6rd Border Relay Radius CPE/host BNG DHCP IPv4 IPv6 • In some fixed line broadband network scenarios, the Broadband Network Gateways (BNGs) act as the access gateway of users (hosts or CPEs). The BNGs also embed a DHCP server function to propagate the user configuration information. • User configuration information may be managed by AAA servers. Between AAA servers and BNG, radius protocol is used to carry information. • In 6rd deployment, the 6rd user configuration information is also stored in AAA servers. A new RADIUS attribute is needed to propagate these information from AAA servers to BNGs.
