  1. Research Paper!! (Choosing a Topic)

  2. Pick your topic! • The first thing you must do is choose a topic! Topics will be due 11/14(A), 11/15(B) • Topic should be about American Culture • Topic should be persuasive • You must have an opinion on it. If you see both sides, pick another topic where you are on ONE side. • Be sure you can actually research it! Ex. Skateboarding is fun. Can you PROVE that? It may be true, but is there research?

  3. Let’s Brainstorm! • At your tables, brainstorm and come up with a list of 5-10 possible paper topics. • Use your lit book…look at unit introductory essay’s for ideas! • Share ideas with the class. • Looking at your list, narrow to 2-3 topics that you are interested in. • Before next class, do some preliminary research (if necessary) and choose final topic. You MUST turn in topic to Mrs. Clark next class!!
