  2. QuickBooks with No Data will run It is also recommended to launch Quickbooks with no data to fix the runtime error. You need to ensure that QBW.EXE is not running by clicking Ctrl+Alt+Delete and searching through the active processes. If the user comes across QBW.EXE listed, pause it by right-clicking and selecting “End process now”.

  3. Open Windows will be suppressed Another possible alternative is to suppress open Windows and check to make sure that QBW.EXE is not running on the system by clicking Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Once its verified that QBW.EXE is not running, Quickbooks icon will be right-clicked. After that, press and hold Ctrl and click open. The user should now press and hold Alt button from “No company Open Screen”.

  4. QBW.INI File will be renamed The last resort is to attempt to rename QBW.INI file to resolve the dreaded Runtime error. The user needs to spot the file on the system by using the Windows file search tool or navigating to the appropriate location manually. Once the user locates QBW.INI, right-click and select rename. It is generally recommended to rename the file to .OLD extension so that the file is QBW.OLD. Next, press the enter option to save the changes. 1-800-796-0471
