  2. The HIV Department of The Union Aims To develop evidence-based, effective approaches to delivery of TB/HIV services that can be implemented efficiently and cost-effectively in low-income settings.

  3. Research questions to be answered • NTPs role in delivery of coherent and coordinated HIV care in addition to other national care strategies? • Cost-effectiveness of NTP approach? • Sustainability? Enhancers and barriers? • Impact TB control, HIV epidemic and general health services?

  4. Health systems related research questions • Balance between general (and decentralised) vs. specialised health services in delivery of TB/HIV care? • Lessons learned from NTP laboratory and drug supply services? • Enhancers and barriers for HIV counselling and testing uptake and long-term ART/(C)PT adherence?
