  7. 20/20 Bottom number is the size of the letters on the chart in millimeters Top number is the distance from the chart in feet

  8. If you can’t see objects at a distance, then you are near-sighted or you suffer from myopia. (MYOPIC)

  9. If you can’t see objects close-up, then you are far-sighted or you suffer from hyperopia. (Hyperopic)

  10. Astigmatism • Unequal curvatures in cornea & lens

  11. HINDSIGHT 20/20 Monday Morning Quarterback Perfect understanding of an event after it has happened; - a term usually used with sarcasm in response to criticism of one's decision, implying that the critic is unfairly judging the wisdom of the decision in light of information that was not available when the decision was made.

Reflection • Students were asked to write a reflection • that covered the following: • What is meant by perfect vision? • What is meant by Hindsight? • What is a Snellen Chart? • What does the Snellen Chart measure? • What does the screening process measure? • Describe the screening process (the steps). • When is Hindsight appropriate within the health care arena? • How did you feel at the beginning of the screening process? • Has being a part of an actual diagnostic procedure influenced your health care choice and if so, why?
