  2. Intro • Current IETF standard designations are not entirely useful. • Don’t provide stable references for most IETF protocols. • ISD = Internet Standards Documentation

  3. Main idea • Create a new document series and assign a new number / acronym to a specification when it is approved as a Standards Track doc. • Migrate the concept of STDs and BCPs numbering of RFCs into actual documents that detail what they identify, their publication information and their change history.

  4. Next Steps • Seemed to have good buy-in to the concept in San Diego. • You’ll see some examples soon. • Fix a couple of things & ship this document. • Ready for WGLC after update?
