Increased growth of sophisticated search engines and Internet-accessible Ask-A-Services Google searches 8,058,044,651web pages daily • College students first choice Web resources for most of their assignments are search engines (such as Google), Web portals (such as MSN, AOL or Yahoo). In fact, nearly 80 % use search engines for every assignment. 2

Increasingly self-sufficient, navigating resources making choices with no expert guide. Increasingly satisfied with the quality of information they find on the Web. Prefers online library resources versus print resources. Gaming/Virtual world. Today’s average college grads have spent less than 5,000 hours of their lives reading, but over 10,000 hours playing video games."
