National Weather Service Omaha/Valley, NE • Impacts • Travel Will Become Difficult/Hazardous Due to Periods of Moderate to Heavy Snow, Some Blowing and Drifting Snow, and Reduced Visibilities – Travel between Noon-9pm may be discouraged. • Flight Delays Possible • The Snow and Wind May Combine to Produce Power Outages • Wind chills - 0 to 10 Above.

  8. National Weather Service Omaha/Valley, NE • Timing – Deteriorating conditions Thursday – Noon-9pm worst time to travel. Snow will begin to spread from central Nebraska into parts of eastern Nebraska Wednesday night and continue through Thursday night. Heaviest snowfall late morning through the day. • Snow Amounts – 6”+ toward Cedar and Monona Counties. 6-10” a good part of the area. 10”+ toward Seward/Beatrice/Fairbury. • Winds - 15 to 25 mph gusts to 30 mph. • Temperatures - Teens and 20s • Wind chills – Single Digits during the day…dropping below zero by Friday morning.

  10. National Weather Service Omaha/Valley, NE • Caveats – Storm system is just moving on the west coast. Timing and strength may change. • Easterly flow may usher in dry air and decrease amounts. • Initial dry air may delay the time of the heavier snow and linger it longer into Friday.
