  3. Inter-county Coordinating Committee Created in the 1970s Counties opted out of the regional planning commissions Realization that similar interests, concerns existed in these counties Need for ongoing communications

  4. Inter-county Coordinating Committee Meets 10 times a year, on a monthly basis Meetings rotate amongst the 6 counties depending upon subject matter Counties develop agenda topics UW Extension facilitates programs, speakers, etc.

  5. Inter-county Coordinating Committee County board chairs, and administration members attend Meetings include invited state, federal legislators and/or their staff WCA staff provide update on what’s happening at the state level Opportunity for counties to bring issues/concerns to legislators

  6. Inter-county Coordinating Committee Press and public is present $100 per county annual budget

  7. Inter-county Coordinating Committee Topics covered in 2011/2012 Health and Human Services Economic Development Alternative Energy Rural Community Revitalization Healthy Living Agriculture Trends and Local Foods County Parks County Jails Human Resources
