What Does Longsuffering Mean? • In Greek makrothumia and hupomeno • Makrothumia means long temper relating to people and love • Hupemeno means long temper relating to circumstances and hope • Agape love: a selfless , self-sacrificing love • A choice of the will, not based on emotions or senses • Longsuffering or patience means slow to wrath

(ESV) • Because of love, there is peace, joy, and patience • Opposite of patience is impatience • Impatience causes quick temper, rudeness, meanness, and lack of self control
