  4. Step 1: The Plan • Develop climate change themed art projects for children grades 4-8 • Create basic climate change science materials to accompany art projects • Communicate my own research through Antarctic photography book and photos I work with

  5. Step 2: Attend Outreach Event • STEM event at Leilehua High School for families • Climate change mosaic, wind turbine pinwheels • Information and art at booth

  6. Step 3: Evaluate and Improve • Format difficult to maintain attention • Students knew very little about climate change • Excited about Antarctic photos and learning what the animals were • Practice! Manoa Experience

  7. Future? • Incorporate what I learned into my teaching and outreach • Broader impacts ideas • Improved science communication skills and gained outreach experience • Keeping employment options open
