BSR CIVIL PROTECTION COOPERATION EUROBALTIC I SPECIAL FINDINGS • Decision makers and political level support is very important for efficiency – Eurobaltic Progress Report is provided annually to the CP Directors General and Committee of Senior OfficialsMeetings • Keep momentumafter reaching certain level– there was no breake between Eurobaltic I and II projects • 3.Project Management structure has been changed in Eurobaltic II – more responsibilities is given to joint groups of PP, e.g. Steering Committee and Implementing Groups # 43 & # 97

BSR CIVIL PROTECTION COOPERATION IMAGINATIVE FOLLOW-UP „the Union shall encourage cooperation between Member States in order to improve the effectiveness of systems for preventing and protecting against natural or man-made disasters” Implementing rapid response and preparedness instrument • The follow-up should develope the BSR strategy in line of the wider EU context, including : • Improvementof safety infrastructure resulting from risk assessment and mapping; • Preparedness for rapid response; • Further development of the research and education networks in the civil protection; # 43 & # 97

  7. BSR CIVIL PROTECTION COOPERATION SELECTED PRIORITY 2007-2013 • Following priorities should be focus of the follow-up project: • Environment risk prevention/structural planning, public education, industrial safety development; • Administrative capacity, joint/crossborder risk andemergency management # 43 & # 97
