Updates from CDC’s Office of Public Health Research • FOA for “Improving Public Health Practice through Translation Research (R18)” • $10M • 300 LOIs, over 200 applications • Funding for approximately 28 grants • Review process underway with awards made by September 2007 • Announcement to the public in Fall 2007 • FY2008 – potential for similar FOA (translational research) with different focus (e.g. disparities)

FY2008 PHSR Funding • OCPHP’s Public Health Systems Program • $250,000 • NNPHI will administer • Potential for additional funding • PHSR at other Centers, Offices, etc • PHSR coordination will provide information on research opportunities across CDC • CDC’s Office of Public Health Research • FY2008 FOA for translation research
