  2. AndyWarhol P.O.B: Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania Style: Pop Art What the Artist was known for: Considered one of the most important American artists of the 20th century. His ideas and work both reflect popular culture. During the 1960’s, he created hundreds of soup cans by using the silkscreen process in a place he called “The Factory”. He painted famous celebrities using the same image repeatedly. He created movies and wrote books. While making a film, one of his actresses shot Andy almost killing him.

  4. Warhol: Campbell Soup Can Description: The silkscreen image is of a Campbell’s soup can. It was mass produced by using a silkscreen. It is cartoon like with its flat, simplified characteristics. He chose this image to create because he wanted to depict an easily recognized object which we can find in any market or home.

  6. Warhol: Marilyn Monroe Marilyn Monroe was made with the silkscreen. A photograph was used with an exposure process. Than the photo image was transferred onto the screen and paint was applied through. It has large shapes of color and shadows are simplified.
