  2. TODAY we are preparing for a quiz on writing personal checks SWBAT define the vocabulary needed in order to write a personal check.

  3. It is IMPORANT to learn vocabulary so we can understand what we are reading. We do this so we are in CONTROL of our own lives. EXIT Ticket will be completed notes of all vocabulary and check writing worksheets.

  4. I know I am prepared for the QUIZ because I have…. • written at least 1 personal check and my teacher has checked my work. • Copied all the vocabulary into my notebook. • Quiz is tomorrow

  6. Your bank book • Keep record of your money. • Most banks do this for you for FREE! • WHY DO THIS? – so you always know how much is in your account.

  7. Vocabulary • Payee:  The person/company that gets the check. • Payor:  The person/company that writes the check (to the payee). • Endorse a Check: When the payee signs their name on the back of a check to cash or deposit the check. • Bank book:  A booklet that is used to keep a record of all your checking related transactions, including checks written and deposits. • Balance:  The amount of money currently in your checking account. • Non-sufficient Funds:  When you write a check for more money than you have in your account. • Minimum Balance:  The minimum amount of money required in your account.  Having an amount less than the minimum balance may result in extra service charges or reduced privileges. • Service Charge:  An amount the bank charges (fees) for use of the checking account.
