  2. What is environmental engineering? Concerned with: • protecting the environment from deleterious impacts of human activity and the application of technology • protecting humans from adverse environmental factors • improving environmental quality

  3. Common focus of environmental engineering curricula • Production of safe, palatable, and ample public water supplies • Disposal or recycling of wastewater and solid wastes • Control of water, soil, and atmospheric pollution • Control and remediation of hazardous wastes
