What we expect from our athletes? • Commitment to our program • A desire to be a part of something more important than a single person • Be proud of Grayson Track and Field • Always “wearing” and representing Grayson Track and Field • Be on time and ready to work EVERYDAY • Represent the attitude and behavior that reflects well on the program and school

  6. Expectations for Parents • We must have 1 of 2 things from the parents • 1 – Your effort and energy in helping with organization, volunteering, fundraising • 2 – Your financial contributions • If you cannot provide both, specializing in one is a must for a successful program

Booster Club and Purpose • Sherridon and Glenn Dobbs: Co-Presidents scdobbs@comcast.net • Carlos Marshall – Vice President carlos.marshall@trsga.com • Mark Braswell – Treasurer braswell_d@comcast.net Purpose: To provide financial and organizational support to the Grayson High School Track and Field Program.

  8. 2010 Booster Club Info • $150 Booster Club Dues • 10 for $10 Sponsorship = $100 per athlete • What does this help with? -Helps pay for 2 extra coaches (GCPS only covers 4) -Budgeted equipment replacement and additions -Uniforms -Meet entry fees -Out-of-town Meets (helps with some expense) -Coaching clinics -End of year awards, helps with banquet expenses

  9. Season Organization • Minimum Requirements by March 25th • Minimum of 4 meets to reach the requirement. • If the requirement is not reached, then season is over (2 full months versus 3 months – 3.5 months for those who do reach requirements).

  10. Upcoming Important Dates • February 7th – last date for online orders to receive warm ups and spiritwear in time for first meet. There will be one other order (deadline TBA). • February 24th – first meet @ Loganville for EVERYONE who has met practice requirements (no unexcused absence, finished workouts)

  12. Misc. Information • Transportation Issues – happens many times in the season. March 9, 18, and 25th meets – no buses available to Brookwood, Mill Creek, and Parkview. Be prepared for more cancellations. In this event we need help! Athletes will need to find rides to the school, and their rides should plan to pick them up at the school hosting the meet.

  13. Misc. Info Continued… • Schedule – in handbook • Earning a Varsity Letter Award – standards in handbook • Hosting Co-Ed Relay Meet and Youth Meet – need volunteers for many different things. Hoping these things can work well this year, so it can be our main source of fundraising in the future!

  14. Misc. Continued… • Make sure your son or daughter has a good pair of running/training shoes • Spikes • Tights, underarmour, etc. for COLD meets – one solid color please (relay teams definitely need to be the same) • Uniforms will be given out the week before the first meet.
