  2. Group 1 Back • Working with the teacher • As a group, read the text Oil Spill, by Tricia Oktober. • Next, read through the questions provided. • Your job is to decide as a group what ‘type’ of questions each of them are (literal, inferred or applied) and sort them into columns. • Remember: • literal questions have answers directly stated in the text, • inferred questions will have answers suggested but not stated in the text, and: • applied questions are ones that you will have to draw on your own life experiences to answer.

  3. Group 2 Back • Green box reading cards – please write your answers in your literacy / English books

  4. Group 3 Back • Read the short story Flash Flood. • When you have finished reading, you need to come up with 6 questions about the story. You should have – 2 literal questions, 2 inferred questions and 2 applied questions. • Record these questions in your English book (make sure you leave space for answers) • Swap your book with another group member and see if you can answer each other’s questions.

  5. Group 4 Back • Computer Group: • Visit the All Programs folder • Go into the Languages folder • Open the ‘Upper Primary folder’ • Select the fiction story Incident at Dusk, by Claudia Baharini • Read through the story and then select the Questioning tab at the top of the page. • Answer the questions by typing the answers into a word document – remember to print it out and stick it into your English book.
