  10. The Joint Library Card Project • The system vendors and the National Library • Received funding from Norwegian Archive, Library and Museum Authority • Project period: 2004 • Testing of clients and server: 2005 • Launch: October 2005 • The main aim of the project is to develop a joint library card for personal library users in Norway. • A national borrower database will be established in order to achieve this aim

  11. Goals for Ask the Library • Biblioteksvar (Ask the Library) is a digital reference service whereby patrons can communicate with library personnel via chat, SMS or e-mail/web form. • Our goal is to build and run a national digital reference service. The project is the first of its kind in Norway, both in regard to the combined technologies in a single interface, and the fact that so many institutions cooperate to provide a single digital service. • By participating in the project, each individual library or institution pledges their work time without economic compensation. The pay-back comes in the form of an increased expertise in reference work. In addition to giving personnel new experiences in the form of digital reference, especially chat, participating institutions have found that participation gives them new insight into the traditional, "in person" reference work. The result is that more and more personnel are actively using electronic resources in their reference work. (From www.biblioteksvar.no)

  12. The Norwegian Architecture Portal • The goal is to provide digital access to architectural digital and non-digital sources. The project aimes to do so through knowledge sharing and systematic collection of architectural resources.

  13. Tilgjengelig - Digitization and access to Henrik Ibsen and his writing • A project funded by the Ministry of Education and Research • A collaboration with participants from the national library, utdanning.no, the eStandard project and the Norwegian Archive, Library and Museum Authority. • The target groups are teachers, educaters and students • Digital learning resources as a case

  14. NORA – Norwegian Open Research Archives The project’s goal is to create a coordinated and strong development of open institutional archives in Norway.

  15. NDL working group for licensing • The group will try to show how the Norwegian libraries more efficiently can organize and expand their license agreements. • A survey has been conducted, on how the license agreements are today and how the libraries would like them to be.

  16. NDL working group for digitization • Having a focus on digitizing of material from the sectors of archives, libraries and museums is important in the process of open and democratic access to digital material.
