  2. Welcome to the Information Age • Real Simple Syndication (RSS) – technology that allows users to stream headlines from favorite websites to a blog reader. • The RSS icon (pictured below) indicates a website is RSS accessible.

  3. Using RSS with Outlook

  4. Find and click RSS icon on website of interest

  5. Occasionally, the RSS icon will be replaced with these words, which will occur near the bottom of a page. Click the link.

  6. Copy the web address for this new page

  7. Go to Outlook—Tools—Account Settings

  8. Click on the tab “RSS Feeds”

  9. Click the “New” button

  10. Paste in the web address

  11. Click “Add,” then click “OK” on the “Options” screen

  12. A folder for the site should appear in the viewing pane. When the folder is bold, a new item has been posted.
