  3. WHAT IS RESEARCH PAPER? Research paper may refer to: Academic paper (also called scholarly paper), which is published in academic journals and contains original research results or reviews existing results Term paper, written by high school or college students Thesis or dissertation, a document submitted in support of a candidature for a degree or professional qualification, presenting the author's research and findings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Research_paper

RESEARCH PAPER AT LIBRARY OF FM UGM? • Skripsi : istilah yang digunakan di Indonesia untuk mengilustrasikan suatu karya tulis ilmiah berupa paparan tulisan hasil penelitian sarjana S1 yang membahas suatu permasalahan/ fenomena dalam bidang ilmu tertentu dengan menggunakan kaidah-kaidah yang berlaku.   5. ARRANGEMENT OF RESEARCH PAPER COLLECTION • Research paper collection at the Library of FM UGM is shelved in groups and call number (classification code). Grouping includes Theses, Dissertations, Papers. Group code is put on the stacks. • - Undergraduate medical - > RK • - Undergraduate nursing - > RKP • - Undergraduate nutrition - > RKGz • - Master (postgraduate) - > RT • - Doctoral (PhD) - > RD • - Papers written by lecturers - > RP • - Diploma IV midwifery - > RKB • - Diploma IV dentistry - > RKG

ARRANGEMENT OF RESEARCH PAPER COLLECTION • Apart from group order we also put the collection according to classification number (call number), for example : • - 616 ----------> Diseases • - 616.1 ----------> Diseases of cardiovascular system • - 616.2 ----------> Diseases of respiratory system • - 616.3 ----------> Diseases of digestive system

FINDING PRINTER RESEARCH PAPERS ON THE SHELVES • Write down the call number • Go to the stack having the letter RKGz • Find class no. 616.3427 that is followed by the letters Suh, alphabet s and year 2000 • Call Number description • RKGz  (RKGz = Undergraduate nutrition) • 616.3427  (DDC Classification Code) • Suh  3 letters of author’s surname • s  first letter of document’s title • 2000  year of publication

PROCEDURES OF ASKING FOR A COPY OF RESEARCH PAPERS • Show your membership card/reader’s card issued by the Library, Faculty of Medicine Gadjah Mada University to the library staff • Fill in a notification form provided • Pay Rp 2,000.00 (for internal users) or Rp 5,000.00 (for external users) for the cost of sending the notification letter to the supervisor (pembimbing)
