What are gangs? • A group of people who, through the organization, formation, and establishment of an assemblage, share a common identity. • Gangs are neither just a big city or inner city problem, nor are they a problem of a particular race or culture. • They bring fear and violence to neighborhoods, traffic in drugs, destroy property, involve youth in crimes and drive out businesses.

  3. Why People Joins Gangs? • To belong to a group • To receive protection  • To earn money  • To end boredom and seek more excitement 

  4. How can gang problems be solved? • There are a four stages to the problem-solving for crimes. • They are scanning, analysis, response, and assessment. • For short they call it SARA.

  5. What are some outreach programs and crime prevention programs? • Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention • Boys and Girls Club • The Police and Athletic League Program

  6. If You are a Victim of a crime • Stay Calm • Call police immediately • Always report a crime. If you don’t report it to the police they won’t be able to help. Someone else may become a victim. • Tell the police who you are, were you are, and what happened. • Tell them if any one is hurt • When the police arrive tell them exactly what happened.
