  1. J.F.K. Peer Mediation Program

Peer Mediators • 5th Grade Peer Mediators are chosen based on the following criteria: • Peer Nomination • Teacher Recommendation • Posses the following qualities (good listening skills, trustworthy, interest in making J.F.K. a more peaceful place). • Peer Mediators must attend a four day training. The training equips students with the necessary skills to become an effective peer mediator. • Upon completion of the training Peer Mediators are assigned a grade level during each grades scheduled recess. A mentoring/mediating component is also incorporated into the Kindergarten classrooms. • Peer Mediators are required to complete a conflict report and return to Mrs. Bulawa’s office. The conflict reports are filed and graphed each month.
