The tri-state tornado of 1925. BY:BRANDON WHITE. TRI-STATES. The 3 states that the tornado hit were Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana. Illinois was the most hit state with 600 deaths. The tornado started at 1:00pm and ended at 4:30 pm. LANDSCAPE. 15,000 homes were flattened.

  2. TRI-STATES • The 3 states that the tornado hit wereIllinois, Missouri, and Indiana. • Illinois was the most hit state with 600 deaths. • The tornado started at 1:00pm and ended at 4:30 pm.

  3. LANDSCAPE • 15,000 homes were flattened. • 243 people died in 1 town. • The tornado lasted 3.5 hours. Losses in both towns (Leadanna and Annapolis) cost 500,000 dollars. All together it cost 4,100,000 dollars.

  8. PREVENTION • “The basic thought is to find the right spot in the thunderstorm, the area where the energy is going into rotation and change it,” said ABC’S Ben Eastlund.

  9. AREAS WHERE THEY OCCUR • Tornadoes usually happen in the U.S.A. in early spring. • Texas and the southern state get 100’s of tornadoes a year. • Since there so common there, it is now called tornado alley. • .
