  2. MISSION To Examine the housing market, conduct an Analysis of future housing needs for the community and Mitigate any impacts that may arise from the military expansion, in order to ensure that adequate housing is Available for Guam residents of every income level

MAIN CONCERNS • Housing inventory & Affordability • Homelessness • Funding for housing assistance and homeless assistance programs • Access to land contiguous to military property • Temporary housing for laborers – Re-use of property • Escalation of rents and housing prices • Limited land resources • Staffing needs

  5. ACTION TAKEN • Comprehensive Housing Study • Began on Jan. 1, 2009. • Guam Homeless Point-in-Time Count • Conducted Jan. 31, 2009. • Workforce housing for foreign laborers • Low income housing tax credits
