  1. Aquifer Model (Aquatic Science) • Major Grade! Due Wednesday , Feb 29! • Select a Texas Aquifer • Your work will consist of… • RESEARCH • (15 pts.) Geologic formation – when & how was it formed? • (15 pts.) Hydrodynamics – how does water flow through it? What is its capacity? • (15 pts.) Conservation Concerns – pollution, subsidence, urban sprawl, overuse, etc. • MODELING • (15 pts.) Use an aquarium and materials determined by your aquifer. • (15 pts.) Must be a working model, demonstrating how water and pollutants enters and exits. • (10 pts.) Must be topped with variety of land features, including roads, buildings, an actual city, etc., as well as open land. • (15 pts.) On Wednesday, you will test your aquifer, and demonstrate how development, overuse, and pollution is affecting your aquifer.
