  5. Characters (pg. 356) Zack’s Treasure • Zack looks for treasure in his room. He searches but he can’t find any. He goes to the garage to look. Zack’s little brother wants to play ball, but Zack is too busy. Then Zack goes inside and sees his brother crying. He feels bad. So, Zack takes his little brother outside to play ball. He knows his little brother is the most important thing.

  9. What are pronouns? • A pronoun takes the place of a noun. • A subject pronoun tells who or what is doing something. It takes the place of a subject in the sentence. It is usually near the beginning of a sentence. Mark was happy. He found a missing treasure. • An object pronoun comes after a verb or after a word like “for” or “to”. He found a missing treasure. He found it in the car.
