Diversion of Transloading in LA to Inland Facilities • Still utilizing the Pts LA/LB, importers avoid congestion problems and associated costs by moving intact to inland facilities for transloading and other distribution services • For 2005, IPI moves in TEUs increased 6.5% compared to a .9% decrease in transloaded TEU’s moved east by rail • Transloading is at its lowest level since TTX began estimating this activity in 2000
