Research: Using Library Databases To search online databases Go to ‘UI Library’ Click on Databases Proxy login—if off campus HawkID and password Alphabetical Listing of Databases/Indexes Choose “G” for Google Scholar Click on “Google Scholar” Click on “Google Scholar” icon Now you’re ready to search the Internet for articles, books, documents, monographs, etc. (Google will search ALL other databases by subject, title or author) Alternatively, you may choose any database to search articles.     8. Research: UI Library Document Delivery UI students can obtain nonelectronic journal articles and documents from books held by the UI Library (with the exception of Law and Curriculum Lib.). Research: Access to Citrix Network Citrix Network Holds many programs commonly used Available through proxy login How it works: Go to UI A-Z search page Click on ITS (Information Technology Services Click on “Help Desk” Click on ITS “A-Z List” Choose “V” and click on “Virtual Desktop”* Now you will be at the Citrix Web Interface—sign in with your HawkID and password You will see an Applications box on the left—in this box you will find such programs as Atlas ti, SAS, SPSS, Stata, among other Macromedia and Adobe products *If a small blue screen pops up and asks for password, etc., just click “cancel”

Canon Scanners Page scanners CD burners 4 PC Notebook Laptops* checkout from EPLS office (N491) 3 mini-LCD Projectors checkout from EPLS office (N491) Wav transcription foot pedals and headsets *Dell, Gateway and 2 PC tablet laptops Laptops and mini-LCD projectors are typically checked out for classroom or conference presentations. Please note that we have a check-out process and sheet that must be adhered to by all students in EPLS. Karen Bixby is in charge of checking out these items from the EPLS departmental office and is clear with students what the policy is. Familiarize yourself with the policy by seeing Karen.Laptops and mini-LCD projectors are typically checked out for classroom or conference presentations. Please note that we have a check-out process and sheet that must be adhered to by all students in EPLS. Karen Bixby is in charge of checking out these items from the EPLS departmental office and is clear with students what the policy is. Familiarize yourself with the policy by seeing Karen.

    14. General Policies Log on w/ Hawk ID and password. Log out or lock computers upon leaving them: ctrl + alt + del while logged on to lock computer no more than 5 minutes as courtesy to others No inappropriate websites (no porn, etc.). Printing policy: You may print the following: SPSS, SAS, Nvivo, Atlas ti research work (be mindful of page length—an excessive amount would be 50 pages) Course syllabi if you are a Teaching Assistant Other work as approved by Dr. Morphew
