Introduction • McDonald’s corporation deals with the selling of fast food in different regions of the world. • The corporation runs more than 30, 000 restaurants in the six continents (Green 2015). • The company operates in approximately a hundred countries in the world. • It has a lot of stakeholders, starting from employees, shareholders, partners, and customers.

Cont... • McDonald’s Corporation is normally challenged for its ethical standards. • It is the most criticised corporation for its operations • Examples of the areas of criticism include: Unethical practices, Sell of fatty foods, Exploitative advertisement, Unfriendly to unions, Low payments of workers and False advertisements (Boyland et al., 2015)

Example of a legal case • McDonald faced a criticism regarding the advertisement of their food to children less than 13 years in Quebec. • A Canadian dad of three sued the McDonald for wrongfully advertising Happy Meals to kids. • The organization violated laws in Quebec that oppose the advertisement of items to children less than thirteen years of age (Olšanová, 2013).

Cont... • Antonio’s claim expresses that the toys that accompany Happy Meals are promoted with the dispatch of kids' motion pictures and are regularly part of an arrangement, inciting his family to come back to the café to finish the set. • A representative for McDonald's Canada told CNBC by email that the organization had gotten the decision and will look at it cautiously (Olšanová, 2013).

Strategies Employed by Mcdonald to Maintain Positive Public Image • Amid the ethical criticism which the corporation faces, the corporation has: • Improvement of the menu. • New strategies on advertisement (Boyland et al., 2015) • Labeling of nutrition • Initiating sports and exercises e.g. McDonald Kids Iron Tour • Sponsorship to UEFA football games • Partnership with UK local football clubs

Conclusion • Although the corporation faces a lot of pressure from the public it tries to maintain public image through the activities mentioned above. • The corporation as a good management which administers across the 31000 restaurants • The management tackles the allegations and fights against the company in a professional way. • Instead of ignoring the public which accuse them of unethical operations, the McDonalds work with target customers to get more customers from the same public. • Lastly, the McDonalds, although it is said to be unethical, many people buy their brands.
