  2. ACT Test Date: Registration Deadline: Mar. 7 May 9, 2014 ACT includes: English, Math, Reading, Science, and Writing. • April 12, 2014 • June 14, 2014 • Answer every question. There is no penalty for guessing on the ACT. SAT Test Date: Registration Deadline: • March 8, 2014 • May 3, 2014 • June 7, 2014 • Don’t guess. Points are taken off for incorrect answers on the SAT. • Feb 7 • Apr. 4 • May 9, 2014 • SAT includes: Reading, Math, and Writing. WHS code: 020155

Alaska Performance Scholarship • Up to $4,755 a year to schools in Alaska • Based on GPA, ACT/SAT/WorkKeys scores • Must fill out FAFSA • Optional: Create an account on the Alaska Student Aide Portal (ASAP) • 2 ways to qualify: • 4 math, 4 science, 4 lang. arts, 4 social studies • 3 math, 3 science, 4 lang. arts, 4 social studies, 2 foreign lang. ***Not all core courses count for the APS! Check to make sure the classes you select will count if you are planning to qualify for the APS.

NCAA/NAIA • For NCAA Approved High School courses go to https://web1.ncaa.org/hsportal/exec/hsAction • Type in 020155 for the ACT Code and select Search.  Select Show All Approved Courses, or Show All Denied Courses and compare to your completed and current courses. • Register online for NCAA at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net • Register online for NAIA at www.playnaia.org • **Notice** It is your responsibility as a student and an athlete to make sure that the CORE classes you are taking to meet NCAA and NAIA requirements are accepted.

  6. To Graduate: • 22 Credits • 4 English – Eng 1, Eng 2, and 2 more credits of English • 3 Math – Algebra, Geometry, and 1 more credit of Math • 3 Social Studies – World, US, Gov, AK • 3 Science – Physical Sci, Biology, and 1 more Science • 1 PE • .5 Health • 7.5 Electives

  8. Type course request in “First Choice” box. Do not type anything in the “Alternate Choice” box. For example: Type: “1101” for English 1, Semester 1

  9. Once you have reached 14 course requests, raise your hand. A counselor must check your requests before you click save.

  10. When you are done requesting courses: 1. Go to www.akcis.org WHS Login Info: Username: wasillahs Password: 4akcis 2. Do an occupation sort 3. Do a school sort Information on careers, colleges, and scholarships. Specific to Alaska as well as other states. Lots of information!
