  10. KEY COMMUNICATION The advisor is the one who takes the primary role in communicating between the school and the parents (or guardians) of the advisees. In addition, the advisor communicates important team, grade and school information to his or her advisees. ADVOCATE The advisor, more than any other person in the school, is the advocate for his or her advisees. RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN ADVISOR INFORMATION HUB The advisor is informed of all activities relating to his or her advisees and should act on the information appropriately. NURTURER The advisor develops a trusting, caring relationship with all students in his or her advisory group.

MONITOR The advisor keeps track on a regular basis of the academic, social, emotional and physical well-being of each advisee in his or her group. RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN ADVISOR PLANNER The advisor plans regularly, working closely with other team and exploratory or elective teachers that are advising students from the same team. PARTNER with COUNSELOR The advisor works closely with the counselor assigned to his or her team to identify and meet needs of all advisees.
