Rules and Regulations for Headings in Dissertations and Theses All the main headings for these sections (“Abstract”, “Dedication”, “Acknowledgements”, “Table of Contents”, “Chapter main headings”, “References” and “Curriculum Vitae”) should abide by these rules: Should be 2 inches from the top of the page. Should have the SAME font style and size. Should all be centered. If a change is made to ONE main heading, then that same change should be made to ALL the main headings.

  2. Subheadings Rules and Regulations The subheadings follow the same rules and regulations followed by the main headings 1. All the subheadings “Headings”, “Subheadings” and “Sub-subheadings” should have the same font and justification 2. All the subheadings and sub-subheadings must be placed in the same position through out the document.
