WHAT YOU WILL CREATE • Chose a seminal Supreme Court Case (no one can choose the same case) • Create a powerpoint regarding the case • Slide one must give case name and a picture or cartoon representing the case • Slide two must give a brief description of the scenario of the case • Slide three should offer the legal question(s) to be answered by the court. • Slide four should give the results of the case • The last slide(s) should give another picture, collage, photo to help illustrate the case.

  3. What you will write • You will type a 3-4 page paper regarding the case you choose (remember paper formatting rules- MLA style, double spaced 12pt New Times Roman or Arial font. Should have at least 3 sources on a bibliography page and no excessive quotations- not more than 3 and not more than 1 sentence. • DO NOT EVEN THINK OF CUTTING AND PASTING FROM THE INTERNET OR I WILL THROW YOUR PAPER AWAY. • Page one should be primarily devoted to introducing the case by describing the background scenario. • Page two should describe items such as what the composition of the court was (a liberal v conservative court), some of the famous quotations from the arguments, the result in the case, other related cases, the dissenting arguments and their reasoning, how the public reacted to the decision etc.. • The final page should primarily give the implications of the case to today’s laws and your reaction to the case. Has the interpretation been challanged? How important is this case decision to modern day life. Does this case affect your life (eg. Abortion law, miranda laws) Do you agree/disagree are conflicted. Would you try to have the case overturned or rule of law changed.

  4. This paper will be worth 12 grades • 6 grades for paper • 4 grades for powerpoint • 2 grades for presentation of powerpoint- 5minutes
