    6. 6 For 1997 – 2004 Red = Four (20%) of incidents - workers struck by trains on an adjacent track; Blue = Six incidents (30%) - workers walked into the path of a train These two categories combined (ten incidents) pertained to workers who entered the fouling space of an adjacent track in error or crossed in front of moving train/on-track equipment. This accounts for 50 percent of the fatalities since 1997. Note the slight increase in adjacent track from 17% to 20% Other = e.g, vehicle operated beyond authority limits.
