  3. Introduction • License Plate Recognition is an image processing technology that is used to identify vehicles by their license plates. • Works by extracting the characters from an image. • Used for many applications: tollbooths, parking decks, border control, law enforcement, etc. License Plate Recognition System

  4. Our Product • We will design a license plate recognition system that will be used for law enforcement • Based on a Linux platform • Works with stationary vehicles • Customized for the Georgia License Plate License Plate Recognition System

  5. Existing Products • Most systems are available outside of the US. • Applications available in the US: • SeeCar • Perceptics • Pearpoint License Plate Recognition System

  6. Anticipated Challenges • OCR accuracy • Inter-process communication License Plate Recognition System

  7. Server Setup • Red Hat Linux 7.2 • MySQL • Apache & PHP – Database Accessibility • Glade License Plate Recognition System

  8. Why Linux? • Free • Open Source Product model • No licensing issues – Product is scalable License Plate Recognition System
