  1. 2012 Scholarship Program Application Deadline: February 17, 2012 The San Diego Chapter of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS-SD) is offering scholarships to community college, undergraduate, and graduate women in San Diego County who are pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Each recipient will receive a $1000 scholarship award and will be honored at the 2012 AWIS-SD Scholarship Gala in Spring 2012. Who can apply? Female community college, 4-year college, Masters and Ph.D. students actively pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics in the 2011-2012 academic year may apply. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be a United States citizen or permanent resident. Applicants must be affiliated with an institute of higher learning in San Diego County to be eligible. How can the money be used? The award can be used for educational expenses including tuition, books, housing, and research.
