  8. Family Meal • A combination of food you’d like to see your family eatwith what they would like to see on their plate The Behavior Change Kill = The right nutrition education message said in an influential way

  9. Step 1: WIC Assessment • Eligibility • What do they have access to • ABCDE Guide • Concerns with growth? • Health concerns? • WIC Codes? • Environmental Concerns? • What Do WE see that we can do? • Tips or Suggestions aka Nutrition Education • Referrals

  10. How is their weight? • At risk for anemia? • Medical History? Meds? • Pregnancy History? Codes? • What is going on with their Diet? • WIC Diet Codes? • What is going on at home

  11. Step 2: What do THEY Want? • Projective Tools • Magic Wand, Faces, Metaphor Images, Doors, Fabric, Paint Chips and Card Sort • Their concerns, interests, desire to change • This Step lets you know where THEY are coming from

  12. What are their concerns? • How do they feel about diet? • What are their hopes and dreams? • What are their needs?

  13. Step 3: The Behavior Change Kill • An Individualized Message or The Right Nutrition Education Message delivered in The Right Way

  21. Mom states his eating is like a roller coaster. He is very picky and wont eat new foods. When she offers a new food he wont eat it. He only likes chicken nuggets, milk and PB & J’s. Mom wishes he would eat more healthy foods, especially meat and veggies. • Drinks skim milk – 3, 6 oz glasses a day. • Has regular snacks and meals. (snacks are mostly PB & J’s) • Drinks juice 1 x day. • Rarely has sweet drinks. • Uses a cup
