Potentially Hazardous Biological Agents (PHBA) • Students are allowed to conduct research in a very limited capacity using hazardous biologicals • Potentially hazardous biological agents are • Any microorganisms-bacterial strains, viral strain, fungi, parasites • Recombinant DNA technologies • Human/animal tissues, whether frozen/fresh • Special forms needed can include • Form 6A PHBA Risk assessment form • Form 6B for use of human or animal tissue
