  3. Portfolios are student’s stories! • Student portfolios show: • What a student knows • Why they believe they know it • Why others should be informed about what they know.

  4. Opinion Backed by Fact! • Student’s prove what they know by samples of their work. • Examples: • Pictures • Tapes: audio, digital, video • Drawings

  5. Let’s Remember: • Collection • Selection • Reflection • Projection • Celebration

  6. + Technology • Archiving • Linking supports new ways of thinking or metacognition • Storytelling • New ways of publishing

  8. Discussion • Break in to groups of 5 • Chose a recorder • Spend 8 minutes talking about why portfolios are important to the PYP at ISE. • Chose a reporter • Share information with the whole team.

  9. When? • March 28th - Student-Led Conferences • March 19th-23rd- Practice Week • March 12th- Specialist’s student portfolio work samples to homeroom teachers • Begin collecting work now-don’t wait until the last minute to print • Plan your work and work your plan.
