  3. Introduction ( 3 minutes) Go over drill Homework due on Friday Read out objective Dr. Gupta

  4. Objective Students will be able to conduct an experiment to study a. the effect of electromagnet on a permanent magnet and also b. to compare the electromagnet to a permanent magnet, in order to understand the role of magnets in every electrical devices that creates motion. Dr. Gupta

  5. Engager- (10 minutes) Students will watch a video/ demo software to view the effect of permanent/ electromagnet on a closed coil. Dr. Gupta

  6. Exploration : (35 minutes ) Students will carry out experiments ( 15.2 Electromagnets, page 117-118 of Investigation physics) to study • the effect of electromagnet on a permanent magnet and also • to compare the electromagnet to a permanent magnet. • Explanation: Students will explain and write down their observation as per “ Thinking about what you observed” Dr. Gupta
