  2. Think of leaders from the past • Government leaders • Religious figures • Coaches • Military commanders • and ??????? • Throughout time, artists depicted “leadership” qualities through facial expression, pose, clothing, setting, and other characteristics.

  3. Let’s look at past portraits for leadership clues. • Find any attributes that you included in your definition of leadership. Or perhaps the artist worked to depict the individual’s “greatness” with symbols, confident pose, and grand setting? Or? *Physical appearance is also a personal characteristic of leaders.
