  2. UNDERSTANDING YOUR PRODUCT • What does your company sell? • What product/service will put your company “on the map”? • How do you know your customers will buy your product?

  3. PRODUCT VOCABULARY • Product Mix – combination of products a business sells • Features – physical characteristics a product has • Benefits – what a customer is getting out of using your product/service

  4. PRODUCT VOCABULARY • Product Positioning – creating a strong image in order to influence potential customers to distinguish your brand’s characteristics from your competition • MIND SHARE: awareness or popularity a certain product has • When you need to blow your nose, what do you ask for???

  5. PACKAGING • Packaging – contains and protects the product until the consumer uses it • Cost effective • Environmentally responsible • Eye-catching • Promote image of company/brand

  6. SUPPLIERS • Now that you have decided what products you will sell, who will your suppliers be? • Research where you will purchase the supplies to make the products/services you are selling and/or where you will manufacture your product/service. • Please include any relevant vendors needed to create your product/service.
