  2.  The government has blocked 59 Chinese smartphone apps, including the best social media sites such as TikTok, Helo and WeChat, to fight the danger these apps pose to the country's "sovereignty and stability", it said. he said in a press release Monday evening. The statement from the Ministry of Electronics and Informatics (MeitY) said it had received complaints from various outlets, including multiple allegations regarding the exploitation of certain smartphone applications to intercept and surreptitiously transfer user data to servers outside India.
