  1. Artist Research Project • 1. Choose an artist to study • Student will choose one artist to research, using the internet students can look up information on the artist. • 2. Write a one page artist biography • Using the artist biographical information sheet type up an outlined biography answering the questions 1-8 below. These need to be typed up. • 3. Find and print 5 examples of the artist’s work • Choose 5 artworks by that artist • Find the images online, copy into a word Document, resize to fit in the following boxes and then print. 2 1/2” x 3 “ • Paste the images onto the boxes • Fill out the artwork information for each artwork • 4. Write a critique on one of the 5 artworks by the artist • Choose one of the five that you would like to write a criticism for. Student will answer the questions and type them up in full sentences print out and add to packet of information • 5. Create an artwork inspired by the artist – Could be a replica or in the style of the artist

Students will choose an artist to research • Student will choose one artist to research, using the internet students can look up information on the artist. • Using the artist biographical information sheet type up an outlined biography answering the 8 questions on the worksheet. These need to be typed up. • Place/date of birth: • Place/date of death • Primary type of artwork (pots, dishes, abstract sculpture or figure sculpture) • Media: Ceramics- what makes this artist unique from other ceramic artists • Style or period of art? • Five Interesting and/ or Personal facts about the artist • Good Quote about art or ceramics from the artist: • Biography Resources (minimum of two -use authoritative sites). After writing the artist biography, you will choose 5 artworks by that artist • Find the image online, copy into a word Document, resize to fit in the following boxes and then print. 2 1/2” x 3 “ • Paste the images onto the boxes • Fill out the artwork information for all 5 artworks Name of artwork • Date the artwork was created • Name of the Artist • Artwork medium Coffee Kiss 2002 Johnson Tsang Fired and glazed

Create an artwork inspired by the artist – Could be a replica or in the style of the artist This project can be a replica, created in the style or your original that uses ideas that the you got from the artist • Draw a sketch of what they are going to create in their journal- Needs to be approved by Mr. Proud before you build the project • In your journal you will need to write up a page next to your sketch on what methods you are going to use to create this piece, You will need to write about the building of your piece, firing, and what you will use to color the piece • Photograph your original sketch from your journal • Photograph your written page from your journal where you talked about how you would create your artwork • Photograph your final artwork on the website • Photography of one of the artist’s artworks that inspired your work • All turned in proudart.weebly.com
