Regional Economic Strategy • In common with the Overall Aims of 900756 GHG Emission umbrella, the aims of the project are: - • To move the region towards a low-carbon economy through • Diversification of the energy mix • Reduction in energy use (energy use, resource efficiency, sustainable construction) • To demonstrate that through a ‘sustainable development’ approach, the greenhouse gas target is not a barrier to economic development and regeneration. Rather, to showcase the greenhouse gas target as a • driver for innovation, new partnerships and ways of working. • catalyst for the region to develop and implement new technologies • a measure of our relative success in delivering sustainable economic development and regeneration of the region.
