EMRS – Three Primary Modules • Investigation Module • All aspects of disease control tracking including premises, visits, lab samples, diagnosis, etc. • Administration Module • Order personnel, check-in personnel, management of all resources at incident level. • Tasking Module • Track non-premises-based tasks.

System Owners • Emergency Management • Project Sponsor for EMRS: Dr. Jonathan Zack, Director of Preparedness and Incident Coordination for Emergency Programs • In past primary direction and funding came from EP. • In past end of year funds were many times directed to specific enhancements. • Recent changes in funding methods will affect enhancements. • Regions • Have not traditionally provided any funding. • In past were not directly involved in determining direction.

System Development • VS:CEAH:CADIA (Center for Animal Disease Information and Analysis) • No longer exists • VS:CIO • All IT applications have been placed under the Office of the VS Chief Information Officer. • VS CIO is Mr. John Picanso • Changes have occurred in organizational structure but former CADIA staff located at Fort Collins in same offices. • Funds for IT investments will be handled in different manner. • 2010 Funding? • EMRS Resources • Dr. Fred Bourgeois – National Coordinator/ Subject Matter Expert • Tim O’Neil – Project Manager • Rob Garand- Analyst/Programmer

EMRS -Where are we today? • EMRS is a fully Web based system that can be accessed from any computer running Internet Explorer 6 or greater. • EMRS can run on local servers to allow massive data entry. • EMRS is integrated with the National Prem ID allocation system. • EMRS has the ability to track all disease control activities on thousands of premises in multiple states, new mapping interface and web services will augment ability to share data with state systems. • EMRS has the ability to track personnel orders and tours of duty and work assignments. • EMRS can manage inventory and track all assignments of vehicles and equipment in multiple locations. • EMRS has Task Tracking.

  10. EMRS –Where are we going… • EMRS is a steady state system • Major enhancements are dependent on funding • Minor enhancements are added as time and resources permit • Currently working on improved tracing features
