Mission Statement • Educate the WAEA membership on what is involved in implementing Internet and Email onboard, encompassing the entire chain of companies, hardware, software, involved in the end-to-end system. • Provide a forum to facilitate coordination among the many suppliers of products and services in the supply chain to insure a seamless end-to-end solution. • Provide guidance documents for those items needing standardization to the AEEC. • Provide input and data to other industry forums and liaison with them as an overall knowledge body (e.g., draw a roadmap to help coordinate what is going on in ARINC 628, 763, 664 and other industry groups).   3. Issue Handling and Resolution • Issues will be tracked by the IWG and may be assigned to the various Ad Hoc Groups for detailed discussion and resolution as appropriate. • A number of issues have been identified in previous telecon meetings; (see attached issues log WAEA_IWG_Issues.doc).

  4. Reference Architecture Client’s Computer Network Off-Board Infrastructure Communication Server Hardware On-Board Infrastructure Services / Content Internet NATS TAWL (Terminal Area Wireless LAN)

  5. Possible Deliverables • Reference model outlining the end-to-end system for Internet onboard including the hardware, software, companies involved. • White paper describing the reference model and discussing the key issues for implementing Internet onboard • Collection of educational papers and website links posted on WAEA website or discussion forum. • Descriptions of suppliers products and services posted on forum • Presentations at WAEA TC meetings and workshops (and posted on website/forum) • Articles in TechFX and Avion and other magazines • Conduct a single-focused workshop if necessary (From April 26, 2000 Telecon Minutes: Minutes_4-26-00a.doc)
