  3. The Forum • How could one have a statue erected for himself? • Through distunguished service to the town • Was there much traffic in the forum? Why or why not? • No – barriers prevented traffic from entering the forum

  4. The Forum • Explain how important information was disseminated among the people. • There were no newspapers in Pompeii, but certain information, like election results and dates of processions, festivals and shows were publicized on notice boards in the forum.
