  2. Getting Kids Excited About Science MSTi seeks to foster a lifelong curiosity in the sciences and to prepare young people for rewarding careers in math, science and technology-related fields.

MSTi At A Glance WHAT: Hands-on after-school program aimed at engaging kids in science at a young age WHO: Nearly 1200 youth in grades K – 8, ages 5 through 14 WHEN: Science Clubs meet once a week for one hour WHERE: 80science clubs across Greater Boston and the Merrimack Valley WHY: Invests in local workforce for Massachusetts and the US to remain competitive

  4. MSTi Helps Young People… • Learn and Practice the habits of scientific thinking • Build an enduring excitement for math, science and technology • Increase their exposure to scientific concepts • Investigate math, science and technology-based careers as realistic career options

  10. Get InvolvedHost a Science Club Site Visit • Underwrite the cost of transporting 10-15 youth to and from your company • Provide a healthy snack to the youth (i.e. juice and cookies • Give tour of workplace providing hands-on activities and interaction with various staff

  11. Co-teach one of the MSTi curriculums alongside afterschool staff members Make an informal visit to a science club to lend a hand during experiments Participate in the ePals electronic mentoring program Get InvolvedIndividual Volunteer Opportunities

  12. Introduce MSTi to your co-workers or other peer networks Coordinate a presentation about MSTi to your professional organization Arrange opportunities for United Way staff to speak to your senior management team Get InvolvedBecome a MSTi Advocate
